Chelsea Byers

Chelsea is a seasoned executive who has served as Chief Operating Officer for companies like Collideoscope, WISEgenerosity and TechSmart, among others. She brings deep experience building and scaling companies, with a strong track record of helping startups grow from early-stage to maturity across Series A through Series D. Her gift is turning complexity into clarity, and building systems that allow people to do their best work.

As a leader in product, operations, and people strategy, Chelsea brings product savvy and a startup mindset to everything she does. She has held additional executive roles including Chief of Staff at Ryp Labs, Chief Operating Officer at TechSmart, and Vice President of Product and Instruction at Galvanize. Earlier in her career, she led instructor development at General Assemb.ly, worked as a researcher in the UK Parliament’s House of Commons, and taught high school math in inner-city Oakland. Across every chapter of her career, she has focused on building healthy, high-performing teams and making sure no one is bogged down by unnecessary friction.

Chelsea is passionate about data-informed strategy, process optimization, and culture-building. She has led customer success teams focused on Net Revenue Retention, built internal dashboards to bring clarity to OKRs and budgeting, and developed systems for HR, compliance, and recruiting. Her work consistently helps organizations operate with more alignment, more momentum, and more joy.

She holds degrees from the University of Oregon and the London School of Economics, where she competed on both the equestrian and rugby teams. She speaks working-proficiency Italian and some Chinese, has an extensive background in civic and volunteer work, and brings a foundation in instructional and product design to everything she touches.

Our Story

Imagine galloping a horse across an open field, and hearing the thud of 1300 pounds of strength stomping into each hoof print. At 30 miles an hour, you're running with your animal straight towards a solid hanging log jump with a deep ditch underneath. Horses are sensitive, and you know that the second you look down at the ditch or tense up before takeoff, or get distracted by something on the field, your horse will feel your hesitation and skid to a stop, you'll fly off, or worse. You sit up and breathe, knowing the jump is fast approaching that there's no more time to prepare. All you can do now is determinedly approach takeoff and keep your eyes up knowing that it's GO time. This moment, where you shed the distractions and fear and commit right before takeoff, is the jump point.

With early roots in this kind of riding, founder Chelsea Byers often remembered the feeling of that moment as she met founders in the startup world. Every visionary-led business has key inflection points where it has to move ahead with alacrity and determination, or not move at all.

Startups require so much work that often visionary CEOs get so bogged down with running the day-to-day that there's no time to concentrate on what the next big product, strategy shift, or leap ahead should be. Founders start businesses to do big, audacious things -- whether it's bringing a new product to market or building a company to support their families and leave a legacy. Nobody wants to start a company and feel alone and stuck building and maintaining it.

Seeing the difficulties that early-stage founders faced, Chelsea was determined to help business owners find determination and renewed focus so they could get back to that thrill of doing big things. JumpPoint was created to partner with entrepreneurs by providing C-level advising and smart operations methods so that they can focus on bringing their ideas to life.
